Zoom is betting our virtual lifestyles won’t be going away any time soon and has, to that end, created a new platform to help facilitate the experience.
Called Zoom Events, the new platform will enable users to create interactive virtual experiences, such as summits or conferences.
Zoom Events is comprised of a series of Zoom products, such as Meetings, Chat, or Video Webinars. OnZoom, another Zoom product that’s currently in Beta, will be rebranded and integrated into Zoom Events as well, the company stressed, saying that it can be either private or searched and explored publicly.
The company believes its customers can benefit from Zoom Events in multiple ways, such as building an event hub from which it’s easy to manage and share events, or creating customizable ticketing and registration. It offers control access and billing from one portal and allows for the hosting of a variety of both free and paid events. The platform also sports statistics tracking, such as attendance, registration or revenue.
Zoom Events can be used with an existing paid Zoom Meetings or Video Webinar license, the company concluded.
“We know that people are looking for flexibility in how they attend events in the future,” said Oded Gal, chief product officer at Zoom. “This is another way we’re helping customers scale to meet consumer demands and the evolving virtual and hybrid landscape.”
